Basic what are Heels ?

HEELS provide a gorgeous look to to the architecture of a lady.

It helps in providing a new platform to women. Moreover it also helps in providing confidence to ladies up to some extends in some cases...

However heels help in providing a better looks to women. The shoe heel is used to improve the balance of the shoe, increase the height of the wearer, alter posture or other decorative purposes.

FOLLOWING are various categories of HEELS

Kitten heel

A kitten heel is a short, slender heel, usually from 3.5 centimeters (1.5 inches) to 4.75 centimeters (1.75 inches) high with a slight curve setting the heel in from the edge of the shoe...

Stiletto heel

It is named after the stiletto dagger. 

Stiletto heels may vary in length from 2.5 centimeters (1 inch) to 25 cm (10 inches) or more if a platform sole is used, and are sometimes defined as having a diameter at the ground of less than 1 cm (slightly less than half an inch).

Spool heel

A spool heel is a heel that is wide at the top and bottom and narrower in the middle,so resembling a cotton reel.

Spool heels are characterized by an hourglass shaped heel .i.e., thick at both ends and thin in the middle.

Wedge heel

Wedge boots, wedgies are shoes and boots with a sole in the form of a wedge so that one piece of material, normally rubber, serves as both the sole and the heel.

Wedge boots are more common for women and often have a sole that is much thicker at the back than the front, making it a high-heel shoe or boot.

Platform heel

Platform shoes (also known as disco boots, triangle heels, or simply platforms) are shoes, boots, or sandals with thick soles at least four inches in height. They are often made of cork, plastic, rubber, or wood (wooden-soled platform shoes are, technically, also clogs). Platform shoes have been worn, for reasons such as fashion or added height.

Pump heel

Pumps are usually closed toe or peep-toe with a heel of 2.5 cm or less. Shoes with low cut front and usually without any fastening or straps. Ankle straps do make occasional appearance on pump shoes. 

These shoes are known as court shoes in British English and Pumps in American English. Pumps can be worn as casuals as well as formal shoes by women.

Tapered heel

Tapered high heels are kinds of heels which gets gradually narrower or thinner toward one end.

Block heel

Tapered high heels and block heels are some what similar but the difference arises at the heels in tampered heels gets gradually narrower or thinner toward one end while that of block heels are in the cubical form or have a block like structure.

Pencil heel

If u look at a stiletto the heel is a bit more wide from the top n starts getting smaller, That's why you have better balance as the top where the heel begins is wider. While a pencil heel is just very thin from beginning to end and if you are not very good at walking with very lilt support you might end up falling or worse twist an ankle.

FORMAL SHOES

Formal shoes are designed specifically for formal wear and as the name suggests, are worn with a dress suit.

Mostly these shoes for women and are made of either leather or suede and are mostly black, brown or gray in color. Dress shoes are simple and may or may not have laces.

SPORT SHOES

These shoes, as the name suggests are the shoes made specifically for sports. These are special shoes which are worn by professional sports players and athletes. But apart from these people common men should also have a pair of such shoes for walking and participating in occasional sports activities as almost all women may love to play some kind of outdoor sport.

Sport shoes are highly durable and strong shoes which have a really nice grip on the foot. There is a large variety of sport shoes which are made specifically for different types of sports.

SANDALS

Sandals are another very popular and commonly used type of shoes for women. Unlike the above mentioned types which completely cover the foot, these shoes are open from the front and are more casual....

Sandals have one or more straps on the top which join the both sides of the shoe. One of the strap runs around the ankle to cover the back of the foot. Sandals are also called summer shoes as they are very comfortable and ideal to be worn during the summers. Sandals go best with shorts and jeans. Another name for sandals is beach shoes as they are the most convenient form of foot wear on a beach.

SNEAKERS

Sneakers are mostly popular among young girls and teenagers. These are very trendy and casual looking shoes which cover the entire foot and have laces which are long and run towards the end of the shoe.

Sneakers are made of fabric and are white at the toe while the sides can be blue, black or of any other color. Sneakers are ideal to be worn with jeans and come under the category of casual shoes. They can be worn on parties, lunches, normal gathering or as daily casual footwear. Sneakers are the coolest of all the above mentioned types of shoes.

BOOTS

Boots are yet another famous type of girlii shoes. Boots can be both formal and informal and are stronger and durable than other shoes. Basically boots are made with high strength material and keeping durability in mind. Boots can be worn with jeans on many occasions, whether on work or not.

A large variety boots is available in the market but generally all boots are either made of leather or suede and are always laced. Common types of boots include: the famous cowboy boots, ankle boots, work boots and heavy-lace up boots.

SLIPPERS

A slipper or house-shoe is a semi-closed type of indoor/outdoor shoe, consisting of a sole held to the wearer's foot by a strap running over (or between) the toes or instep. Slippers are soft and lightweight compared to other types of footwear. They are mostly made of soft or comforting materials that allow a certain level of comfort for the wearer. This can range from aux fur to leather....

LOAFERS

Though originally men's shoes, some styles of loafers, such as casual tassel loafers, are also worn by women.

On college campuses, loafers are worn casually. Loafers are comfortable shoes and can be worn "fashionably" by both men and women, with jeans, shorts, pants, and dresses. They come in a variety of colors, styles, and brands. Loafers are very comfortable and do not harm the feet....

HEELS

High-heeled footwear (often abbreviated as high heels or simply heels) is footwear that raises the heel of the wearer's foot significantly higher than the toes. When both the heel and the toes are raised equal amounts, as in a platform shoe, it is technically not considered to be a high heel; however, there are also high-heeled platform shoes. High heels tend to give the aesthetic illusion of longer, more slender legs. High heels come in a wide variety of styles, and the heels are found in many different shapes, including stiletto, pump (court shoe), block, tapered, blade, and wedge.
